As the "catch-all" committee, Operations has slowly been accumulating roles. Below is a list of the roles Operations currently fills:

  • Storage
  • Supplies (paper towels, TP, soap, cleaning supplies, etc)
  • General tools
  • Snacks (food and drinks)
  • General safety - First Aid, Fire extinguishers, cleared walkways
  • Trash/recycling
  • Network
  • Computers
  • Servers
  • Security cameras
  • Website (main, forums, wiki, etc)
  • Billing (WHMCS)
  • Access control (RFID, makermanager)
  • Electrical
  • HVAC
  • Plumbing
  • Compressed air

In order to better handle management of these items, we need to either spin off new committees or place individuals in charge of specific roles (similar to a "sub-committee"). In general, decentralization/delegation is preferable.
