Department updates:

New Teacher Standard Operating Procedures--must meet with Chair and/or Vice Chair; must have a syllabus for every class taught approved by Chair and/or Vice Chair and must be posted on the calendar for the class. The syllabus must include safety procedures pertaining to the equipment used, the information being taught and any other pertinent information.

Vote on repair or replace the melting furnace. Committee voted unanimously to replace with a TableTop Furnace and approved allocating $800 in committee funds for the purchase.

New Casting and melting furnace protocols effective immediately are: silver, bronze, gold only and MUST be free of solder. No unknown metals, no reclaiming metals of any kind. Clean casting grains of silver, bronze and gold are best.

All training required classes must designate the first 15 minutes of the class to department and subject matter safety.

Discussion about starting a housekeeping/maintenance day and starting office hours. Committee votes unanimously to end each committee meeting with a general clean up/maintenance of the Jewelry area.

We meet the second Tuesdays of the Month. Next meeting January 8th, 7PM
