Draft Requirements For New Space Searches

The logical way to select a space is draft requirements then search to find spaces that match those requirements. The following is a draft of the items to consider in selecting a space. Ideally these elements will be noted as 'Absolutely necessary, make or break' or 'Nice to have, considered as part of a weighted average of desirability.' Some criteria will have elements of each with a certain level of characteristic being absolutely necessary and levels above that being nice to have.
- Amount of space - Square footage to be determined by analysis of the mission/vision for the space developed by the board and consultation with the individual room committees.
- Cost of space - Minimum target with a maximum level
- Suitability of space to mission
- Location related
- Impact on membership recruiting - The status or neighborhood of some spaces will improve the ability to attract and retain members and will shape the characteristics of the membership

- Neighborhood - A safe neighborhood is desired given access is 24x7

- Support functions
- Food
- Stores (craft electronics, hardware, technology)
- Other
- HAM radio concerns
