The basic idea is to use a USB webcam affixed to a gooseneck to display documents, hands free closeup work, etc.
The Microsoft LifeCam series does an excellent job and comes in two flavors:
- 720p LifeCam Cinema $45 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002MCZJ78
- 1080p LifeCam Studio $50 http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-LifeCam-Studio-1080p-Webcam/dp/B0042X8NT6
Will attach it to a pistol-grip swivel head:
- $28 http://www.amazon.com/Sunpak-620-CPG-Pistol-Grip-Tripod/dp/B004U5U1BO
- Other Sunpak models with similar name, but doesn't have 3 levels.
There are basically two choices for the neck, to attach the pistol grip to:
- 11" magic arm $24 http://www.amazon.com/FMA-1-Variable-Friction-Adjustable-Kamerar/dp/B005HQ5O8K
- 2' flexi-arm $25 http://www.amazon.com/Manfrotto-237HD-Heavy-Duty-Super-Clamp/dp/B00009R6AY
The Desk clamp part...
