Blacksmithing Meeting 8/18/19

    1. When?
      1. Friday, Sept. 27: 5 p.m. - 11:30 p.m
        1. Load in before 3pm
      2. Saturday, Sept. 28: 10 a.m. - 11:30 p.m.
        1. Load in early am
    2. What?
      1. A fair-type festival showcasing western heritage- we are the blacksmiths
      2. Two days- lots of opportunity to meet people and discuss DMS Blacksmithing
    3. Who?
      1. You. All of you and whomever else we can get to come
    4. Where?
      1. The “Western Village” in the MCL Grand Courtyard
    5. Why?
      1. Fun and Profit
  2. What needs to be done before?
    1. Smithing
      1. Festival items
    2. Volunteer schedule
      1. I’ll be there for most (if not al)l of it, but I’d like to not have to
        1. We all need to be able to take breaks and enjoy the festival
      2. There’s almost 20 hours to fill
        1. Should generally be at least 2 there- don’t have to be smiths, do have to be tustworthy
    3. Things we need:
      1. Tent
      2. Cooler
      3. Tables
      4. Chairs
      5. Table cloths
      6. DMS banner
      7. Forge
      8. Two anvils
      9. Post Vise
      10. Assorted hammers and tools
      11. Working Stock
      12. What else?
    4. Should we make a touchmark?
      1. Troy volunteers to be PR Lead
      2. Tim volunteers to be Touchmark Lead
  3. Classes
    1. I’ve been teaching induction forge, please teach! Something, anything. 
  4. Issues
    1. New KMG work rest ordered
      1. Old rest retuened
      2. Make another, even better one?
  5. Will’s tool and material donation
    1. Just generally what we accepted
  6. Next open forge
    1. Work day 8/25/19- Festival
    2. Could do one on 9/8?
