I, Luke Andraski (@LAndras on Talk), am announcing my intent to run for the 2020-2021 board of the Dallas Makerspace.
I, Luke Andraski, do hereby withdraw my statement of intent to run for 2020-21 board of Dallas Makerspace -7/4/2020
I believe that our community is what matters the most. I have seen the struggles over the last year with expansion and by extension the honorarium cutbacks, and now the temporary closing of our facilities, but through it all I have seen passionate makers from all walks of life put their hearts and souls into the space.
This is why I choose to run. For all of us makers. To continue the stewardship of excellence, education, and all things makery.
To that end, I pledge to continue my volunteer efforts towards the betterment of our space and community, and to work towards the fulfilment of the following goals:
Improve public relations outreach towards the creation of new members and improved member satisfaction and retention.
Complete the expansion in a timely and cost conscientious manner,
Improve documentation of committees and the org as a whole, including tools, training, and IT infrastructure,
Promote greater accessibility for member engagement and volunteerism of the space
Background
I moved my life across the country a year ago to be a part of DMS and to rekindle the maker spirit within me. While DMS may not have the title of square footage champion like Ohio Idea Foundry, with over 1800 members, we are among the largest community of makers in the world.
